A Color Hunt Through Barcelona

color hunt in barcelona

Photos taken in the Gràcia neighborhood of Barcelona, capturing the essence of the color yellow.

A week ago, I participated in a color hunt with the team of Raw social in Barcelona. During one hour, a Saturday morning, I was charged to capture street photography in Gràcia, the former village now nestled within the heart of Barcelona, focusing on the color yellow.

The search began in the morning, when the streets were quiet. The first flash of yellow appeared on a trash, so I decided to use photography technic such as double exposure. Gracia district is full of street art mural, that helped me to focus on yellow.

As I wandered deeper into the labyrinth of streets, the yellow became more daring. The hunt continued through the narrow alleys, where yellow appeared in unexpected places. A small sign for a local café, painted in a bright, cheerful tone that seemed to invite passersby in. Each instance of yellow told a different story, yet they all shared a common thread: a sense of life, of joy, and of the simple beauty that can be found in the everyday.

This color hunt was a reminder that the color yellow is not just a shade, but a feeling. I used my skills to created original content and spend another hour sharing about photography with other photographs that captured other colors. And as I looked back at the neighborhood, I knew that I would be back to find more colors, more stories, and more of the magic that Gràcia has to offer.
